# Change a Smart Link destination

> Move a campaign to another page without changing its entry URL, and check the impact on other placements.

Update the destination when a campaign should open a different page but keep the same Smart Link in its ads or emails. **Changing the destination is a routing change—not an edit to the old page.**

## Before changing a live link

Open the replacement page directly and check its mobile layout, product options, buttons, cart, and checkout. Verify tracking and widgets on the actual publishing destination, especially when moving between a Jurni subdomain and Shopify Pages.

Identify every campaign using this Smart Link. The connected ads shown in Jurni can help, but a manually pasted link in an email or another channel may also be in use.

## Update the destination

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find the correct link">
    Open **Smart Links**, find the entry by its name and URL, and open **Edit**. Check the current destination before replacing it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select the replacement">
    Choose the Jurni experience or enter the supported destination URL. Review any destination-change warning and confirm only when the change is intentional.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the link">
    Select **Update Link** and wait for success. The link's dashboard name can change, but its URL slug remains the same.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test the campaign entry URL">
    Open the saved Smart Link, not only the new page's direct URL. Confirm the destination, campaign parameters, and shopper action. Repeat on mobile.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## When the link belongs to an experiment

Review the connected experiment and its current state before changing routing. Use the experiment controls for variant allocation and test changes rather than treating a test as an ordinary one-page destination.

A change can affect how subsequent traffic is measured. Record the change time and compare the appropriate reporting period. Historical results do not become a clean test of the replacement page simply because the campaign URL stayed the same.

See [Create an experiment](/experiments/create-experiment) and [Read results](/experiments/reading-results).

## What this does not change

Editing the destination does not rewrite the URL in existing campaign placements, publish a draft destination, or remove the old page. It also does not make two publishing environments share the same cart or script setup.

The ordinary Smart Link edit dialog does not let you change the existing slug or saved search parameters. A different entry URL needs its own rollout: keep the old route working while updating placements that should use the replacement.

## Stop using a link

Do not archive or delete a live campaign link before arranging what happens to its traffic. If the goal is to send visitors somewhere else, changing the destination is a different operation from archiving.

For an unavailable slug, use [URL conflict troubleshooting](/troubleshooting/url-route-conflict). Support may need to check an older route that is no longer visible in your normal list.
