Recreate a landing page from a reference
Use this playbook when you have found a page with a strong structure, shopping flow, or visual pattern and want to adapt the idea into Jurni without copying another brand’s customer-facing content. The most useful way to think about a reference is: show Jurni the pattern you want, then tell it what must come from your brand.Good reasons to use a reference
A reference is useful when you want to borrow:- section order or page pacing
- the structure of a hero or comparison section
- how a product selector is presented
- how proof is introduced
- a mobile layout pattern
- a sticky CTA or other interaction pattern
- a general visual direction such as editorial, minimal, clinical, playful, or premium
Step 1: decide exactly what you like
Do not prompt with only “recreate this page.” Before building, identify what is actually valuable. Fill this in:Step 2: capture the important responsive states
If the mobile version of the reference behaves differently from desktop, include both. A desktop screenshot does not explain how the original creator intended cards, tables, menus, or purchasing controls to adapt on a phone. For a full-page reference, collect only the screenshots that add information. Five useful screenshots are better than twenty near-duplicates. Label them clearly:Step 3: attach your real sources too
Alongside the reference, give Jurni:- the connected product you actually sell
- your approved product imagery
- the campaign brief or ad creative
- approved claims and proof
- your actual offer information
- AI Knowledge for persistent brand context
Step 4: use the reference as a system, not a screenshot
Copy this prompt:Step 5: compare section purpose, not pixel position
A reference may contain a section your campaign does not need. Before copying the page flow exactly, ask what each section is doing. For example:
The best recreation keeps the logic of the page while making every section relevant to your visitor.
Step 6: rebuild interactions deliberately
Visual references are weakest at explaining behavior. If you are recreating:- tabs
- option cards
- quantity selectors
- subscription selectors
- bundle builders
- sticky CTAs
- quizzes
Step 7: make a brand pass after the structural pass
Once the page structure is right, review it again specifically for brand fit. Use:Step 8: run a reference-contamination check
Before launch, ask Jurni:What good looks like
A strong reference-based build should feel familiar in structure but unmistakably yours in content and brand. You should be able to explain every major section in terms of a customer decision: understand the problem, trust the solution, evaluate the product, choose an option, or act.Common mistakes
“Copy this exactly.” That gives the AI no instruction about what must be replaced with your own brand truth. Using the reference as the product spec. The reference brand’s bundle or subscription behavior may not exist in your store. Ignoring mobile. A desktop page with complex cards or tables often needs a different mobile pattern. Keeping sections because the reference has them. Page length should follow customer needs, not the original page’s section count. Accidentally importing another brand’s proof. Testimonials, logos, review counts, comparisons, and claims require your own approved sources. What to test next
Once the adapted page is correct, useful test questions include:- the reference’s section order versus a shorter Jurni version
- editorial opening versus product-forward opening
- proof before product versus proof after product
- reference-inspired hero layout versus your current control
