Image repositioning lets you change which part of an image remains visible inside its existing container without replacing the image or redesigning the section.

Reposition an image

1

Open the experience editor

Navigate to the page and section containing the image you want to adjust.
2

Open the image crop/reposition control

Select the reposition control shown on the image in the editor.
3

Zoom the image

Use your trackpad or supported pointer gesture to zoom until the image fills the container the way you want.
4

Drag to reposition

Move the image inside its container to choose the visible crop.
5

Exit repositioning mode

Click elsewhere in the page/editor when the crop looks correct, then save the experience.

Desktop and mobile

Always review the result at both desktop and mobile widths. A crop that works for a wide desktop image can hide the subject when the same section becomes narrower on mobile. If the section supports different media or layout behavior by breakpoint, adjust the relevant version rather than assuming one crop will work everywhere.

When to reposition vs. replace

Use repositioning when the source image is correct but the focal point is wrong inside the container. Replace the image when:
  • the source resolution is too low
  • the aspect ratio is fundamentally wrong for the design
  • important content cannot remain visible at both breakpoints
  • the campaign requires a different creative
